This research project examines community-led commemorative practices in North Uganda with a focus on violence committed by the Lord's Resistance Army. It investigates traditional mechanisms of dealing with a violent past among the Acholi people. In addition, it explores the meaning behind the creation of sites of memory and the rituals around them.
