Ready to elevate your scientific journey?

The Open Doors Fellowship Program, coordinated by IPBO (International Plant Biotechnology Outreach) in collaboration with VLIR-UOS, UGent and the Fernand Lambein Fund, is currently accepting applications from post-doctoral and mid-career women scientists in African research centers. The program is designed to equip participants with new skills, foster professional networks, and enhance scientific visibility to ensure talents remain into the scientific pipeline.

Program Highlights:

  • Fully Funded Short Research Stay in Flanders: Successful candidates will embark on a three-month fully funded research stage in Belgium, providing an immersive opportunity to expand research horizons and cultivate a robust scientific network.
  • Tailored Training Back Home: Upon returning to Africa, fellows can customise a 17-month training curriculum through various online courses, enhancing both soft and hard skills crucial for career growth.
  • Two Distinct Modalities: Modality A to establish new partnerships with Flemish research groups, or Modality B to consolidate ongoing collaborations.

The Open Doors Fellowship Program targets post-doctoral and mid-career women working in African (inter)national research centres.
