From October 14th till October 18th, Ghent University's Research Group Culture & Education is hosting two scholars from South Africa in the context of a Global Minds explorative project that focuses on Decolonial practices for navigating the socio-ecological crisis towards transformative futures. In the context of this project, we have the pleasure to welcome Dr. Lehasa Rich Moloi from the University of South Africa and Fergus Turner from the University of Cape Town.
The aim of the explorative project is to develop a North-South conversation that creates the context for a decolonial training programme for students and researchers.
We would like to invite you to a roundtable discussion on what the urgencies are to decolonize current curricula and practices, and what the possibilities, challenges and promises could be of such a decolonial training program from the perspective of your respective disciplines and/ or institutional contexts. The aim is to have an open and informal conversation which could form the basis for collaboration, (un)learning, and action.
The roundtable will take place on Tuesday October 15th from 10am to 12am in the meeting room of the Department of Educational Studies (Henri Dunantlaan 2, 2nd floor, room 120.047).
