Visit of Prof. Yves Jorens to Eduardo Mondlane University

Ghent University coordinated the VLIR-UOS IUC-programme with Universidade Eduardo Mondlane (UEM), Maputo, Mozambique, from 2008 till 2017. One of the subprojects was on social rights and social protection. Prof. Jorens was project leader during several years.

Due to this longstanding collaboration, the ties between UGent and UEM remained.

Professor Jorens has been meeting on a regular basis his former PhD student Dr. Paulo Comoane. Dr. Comoane participated in some workshops .

During his recent visit to UEM, Professor Jorens met with the management of UEM, rector Manuel Guilherme Junior,  with the Director of Cooperation, Manuel Luis Chenene, with the Dean and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law as well as with different Centers at the Faculty of Law. Professor Jorens also gave a guest lecture as an introductory course for the Labour law students  (bachelor level) on new topical issues and developments  in labour law.

The university as well as the faculty are interested in further possibilities of collaboration, both on educational as on research level.
