Increased flooding frequency poses major threats to worldwide food security, especially in Central Africa. The response of potato, an important staple crop in Uganda, to flooding stress, remains largely unexplored. In this project, the ethylene-related metabolism underlying flooding will be elucidated. Herewith, we will expand our knowledge on flooding biology and contribute to the development of flood-tolerant crops.
