This study aims to assess mycotoxin contamination in the value chain of tropical staple root crops and investigate bio-preservation. Specifically, we will investigate factors that may protect the root crops from fungi infections, assess mycotoxin contamination in the value chain, and explore antifungal compounds from root peels and leaves using in vitro and in situ preservation tests. Additionally, a survey on the root crop value chain will be conducted in the Burkina Faso context.
