The IUC with Université Catholique de Bukavu (UCB) started in 2011. The IUC programme is designed around the central theme of 'post-conflict reconstruction' and focusses on the management of problems caused or aggravated by the specific post-conflict situation in Eastern DR Congo. The programme aims at increasing the welfare of the people of South Kivu, through further developing the strategic economic sectors (agriculture, mining) and improving health care in the region.
