The study aims at evaluating water resources contamination due to geogenic influences and mining impacts in Meli, northern Ethiopia. Remote sensing, GIS, geophysical and geochemical methods will be applied to make the regional assessment of geogenic influences and mining activities on groundwater chemistry, to define the three dimensional picture of the groundwater reservoir and characterize groundwater flow, as well as natural rock and water chemistry, thereby identifying anomalous concentrations of chemical species.
