In developing countries faecal sludge from onsite sanitation technologies, latrines and septic tanks, is mainly treated using sand bed drying which produces concentrated cake and unstable infiltrate. This project aims to integrate co-composting and constructed wetland with sand bed drying for sustainable waste treatment in developing countries in a view of resource recovery.
