Background:
Multiple burden of malnutrition is the simultaneous existence of at least two different forms of malnutrition at the individual, household, or population level. So far, money studies were assessed single burden of malnutrition with the major non-communicable diseases, and longitudinal studies are limited on this area. Thus, this study draws on large-scale, longitudinal datasets, including the UK Biobank (UKB), the IDEFICS Family Cohort, and the multi-country, multi-year Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS), to comprehensively investigate the impact of the multiple burden of malnutrition on major non-communicable diseases.
