The Ghent University Medical Students Association from Ghent University is proud to announce two international student summer programmes, taking place from 7-18 July, 2019 at Ghent University (Belgium) covering the topics of 'Reproductive Health & Rights' and 'Health & Migration'.

Both student-driven programmes are organized in close cooperation with Prof. Piet Hoebeke (Dean Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences) and Porf. Olivier Degomme (Scientific Director of the International Centre for Reproductive Health).

The summer schools are explicitly open for students, post-graduates and PhD students from different nationalities and disciplinary backgrounds: Medicine and Health Sciences, Psychology, Law, Political and Social Sciences and Linguistics and Philosophy ...

The main goal of the summer school is to broaden the participants’ horizons through lectures and workshops by renowned Belgian and international experts in their fields.

We aim to raise awareness concerning global issues such as family planning, female rights and sexual education as well as to stimulate international research concerning infectious diseases and migrants’ health related issues.

We want to give participants the opportunity to cooperate with students from different cultures and nationalities, and discuss opinions concerning ethical issues and legal frameworks.

Besides an interesting and challenging lectures, the 12-day programme is complemented with exciting social and cultural activities.
